Snow White Backdrop

Well, here is the picture of the finished backdrop for the play.  I am not totally satisfied with it but I figured I would post it anyway because I put a LOT of work into it.

Update (5-7-11)

Sorry I have not been on here in a while.  I was finishing the backdrop for the play and got a new job.  Things are finally starting to calm down but they won’t stay calm for long because I got into grad school and that starts up in July.  So, I will try to keep getting new stuff up but I apologise if it starts to become stagnant.

I did get the pictures of Sarah up finally…  Sarah at School

And the backdrop for the play is done but I’m not all that pleased with it.  Someone vandalized it when I was half way done forcing me to redo parts and I’m sorry to say that my enthusiasm for the project dropped after that.  I will get a picture of that up here soon.

Things I am looking forward to…
I am shooting some couples photos for a friend next week then a wedding the first weekend in June.  I am also submitting some of the pictures of Sarah to a show called “RED” at the Soulard Art Market so I will let you know how that goes (won’t find out until mid June I think though).

Today I am going to a bead shop to take a class with a friend.  I’m always excited to learn new creative things.  Depending on how it goes, I may post pictures of what I learn.

Unconventional Portraits

Whenever I send the word out that I am in the mood to take pictures of people, my friend Sarah is always one to apply.  Which rocks for me because she is so pretty and she does not embarrass easily so we have a good time.  I took her to the school where I’m doing the backdrop and put her up on stage and took a couple hundred pictures of her over the weekend (super fun).

Here is my favorite one of the bunch and I will have the rest up soon.

Flowers

I’ve been collecting and pressing flower petals for my next project – they are finally ready!  Now, it is time to play.  🙂

Backdrop for Play

Currently working on a backdrop for a school play.  I did this last year and loved it, I was so happy they asked me again.  I have less than a month to get it painted.  I will post the progress as I go along.

Here is one of the sample designs that I sent (my favorite).  Needs some cleaning up once I get going, but I think it would turn out nice.

The Eye

I went shooting with my dad last week (something we do every year on my birthday) and we went to Laumeier Sculpture Park, a wonderful place.   My dad had never been and I had not been in a couple of years.  Now I will say that the big 3D art is not really my thing, I do still love this park but give me a good oil painting any day over the modern beams and chunks of metal configurations.  They did however have this giant eye by Tony Tasset that I totally fell in love with.  The picture below is my dad with the eye so you have perspective of how big it is.  There is just something about the colors and how smooth it is … I love it.  And now, I want one in my back yard.  I could never see myself doing something like this but I can certainly appreciate it.

Drawing of Sarah

I love my friends and look to them for inspiration.  Just did this drawing of my friend Sarah.  Used one of the pictures I took of her at the Female Photo Shoot.  I might be doing more drawing of my friends.  This was SUPER fun!
